Saad Lamjarred's fans can finally breathe a sigh of relief after the singer's friend, Moroccan fashion designer Issam Washmeh, delivered a message from the imprisoned star to the world.
In a video released on YouTube, Issam confirmed that Saad's parents have visited him at the Fleury-Mérogis prison in Paris this week.
While their visit must have done wonders for Saad's psyche, Issam admitted that his friend was not in high spirits.
With that being said, Saad is thankful to his fans and hopes that they believe in his innocence, according to Issam.
"Saad is very thankful for your support and wants you to continue on praying for him. He has great faith in you and in God, he sends his love to you and hopes to return to his family, friends and fans very soon," Issam said.
Saad was arrested and charged with "aggravated rape" of a 20-year-old woman in October. Last week, the singer was denied bail, which prompted his three lawyers, Eric Dupont Moretti, Brahim Rachidi, and Jean Marc Fedida, to escalate the case and have it moved from the Court of Appeal to the higher Court of Cassation.
