Jordanian actress Saba Mubarak is currently busy filming the scenes of her new Egyptian film “Al Rahib” (The Priest) alongside Egyptian actor Hani Salama. It should be noted that Mubarak is a Muslim yet her playing the role of a Christian woman has thus far not been met with much protest.
The film was written by Midhat Al Adel and directed by Hala Khalil. Syrian actor Jamal Suleiman and Egyptian actor Majid Al Kidwani will also be taking part in the film alongside Saba and Hani.
The film revolves around the torn life of a struggling young priest, without focusing on the religious aspects of the figure. 'Al Rahib' is a young man who decides to become a man of the cloth in hopes that he will be able to overcome his increasingly unstable state of mind. Does the preisthood help him to become a better person?
