Singing for Syria: Sabah Fakhri completes mega opera project
The voice of Syria, Sabah Fakhri, is singing for his country for the first time.
The veteran crooner has been locked away in a Beirut studio, recording an operetta for Syria. Director Safwan Mustafa Na’morevealed that the piece would be apolitical and was made for the people of Syria alone.
As well as Syria's most recognisable voice, the show will feature a range of local talent including Ruwaida Attieh, Ali Al Deek, Rida Wafiq, Anas Sabah Fakhri and Zaina Aftimous.
Whilst the performers are strictly Syrian, international audiences needn't feel left out, as the operetta will be performed in three international languages: Arabic, French and English.
