The Tunisian singer Saber Al Rubaa’i announced that he is nearing the completion of choosing songs for his upcoming album with three songs recorded so far. The songs are Fainak ya U’mri (Where are you my dear), ‘Wo ma As’abshi Alaik’ (Don’t you feel for me), and ‘Baligh I’tithari’ (Tell of my Apology) written by poets Mohammad Dia’, Hamdi Sadiq, and others. Saber has not yet chosen a name for the album as of yet.
Al Ruba’ai told the London based Al Sharq Al Awsat that he plans to come out with a new look and style that will captivate his fans. His new album is a collection of romantic songs that will show Saber in a new light.
His warm voice combined with simple lyrics and modern music, in which Rebaa’i modernizes Tunisian folkloric songs, make him a rare commodity in a climate where more emphasis is placed on the marketability of the music than on vocal virtuosity.
Rebaa’i is unique in his ability to articulate the words with a crisp freshness.
His previous albums’ lyrics express a wide range of emotions, from understanding to anger and hurt, it's the versatility of Rebaa’i’s voice that makes his songs touching and even thought provoking.
What makes his albums especially successful is how well the songs flow into one another. His soothing voice makes his listeners listen to him without fast-forwarding a single track. Not only are the words he sings beautiful but also the poignant way he expresses them captivates his listeners. – Albawaba.com
