Saber Riba’e defies the world
Tunisian singer Saber Riba’e will be heading to Cairo in the upcoming days to place the final touches on his new album, which is scheduled to be released after the holy month of Ramadan, Muslim fasting month. The album will mark the first for Saber under the production of Rotana and will include a variety of songs sung in the Lebanese, Egyptian, Iraqi and Tunisian accents.
According to the London based Elaph, the surprise of the Album will be a new song “Athada Al Alam” (I Will Defy the World) sung in French. The song was recorded and distributed in Europe, and it has been revealed that the singer may also sing an English version of it.
Recently, Riba’e announced that he had left his previous music production company Alam El Phan and moved on to Rotana. Saber held extensive negotiations with Rotana and the two sides finally reached an agreement and signed a contract, which gives Rotana sole rights to his new albums.
The singer signed his new contract at a big event held by Rotana in Beirut. Saber has recently released his last album with Alam El Phan under the title "Share' El Gharam" (Love Street).
Riba’e waged a war against all flagrant video clips, describing the phenomenon as too much nudity on Arab satellite channels. The singer noted that airing these kinds of shameful video clips is disgraceful and a cheap imitation for western culture.
Saber said, “this is considered as promotion for pornography which is against our values and culture. I demand all Arab media to do something to prevent such video clips.” The singer stressed that using such cheap measures to attract viewers and gain popularity is disgraceful to all Arabs. Saber also advised all Arab female celebrities to be more cautious when choosing their future husbands to avoid the same destiny of late Tunisian singer Thikra. –Albawaba.com
