Egyptian actor Said Saleh has agreed to join the cast of the play Hilo Wa Kaddab (Sweet and Liar), which includes Wafaa Amer and Ashraf Abdel Baqi.
Saleh’s acceptance has put an end to the crisis that threatened the play after the withdrawal of actor Wahid Seif.
Saleh denied preferring the private theater to the state-owned theater, after his sending his regrets for not accepting a starring role in two plays to be staged at the State Theater.
“I nixed both offers because of certain circumstances, as I was asked to make some script amendments in the first which the director did not accept, in addition to his complete rejection of the second text,” Saleh said.
The comedy star is currently mulling a role in a play to be staged at the Egyptian Ministry of Culture’s Hanager Theater.
