Egyptian actor Salah Al Saadani has recently finished rehearsals for the new comedy Al Dor Ala Min (Whose Turn Is It), a play depicting the politics of the Arab-Israeli conflict.
The new work was written by Ahmed Awad and is directed by Essam Al Sayyed.
The head of the Theater Art House, Hani Mtawea’, told the Egyptian daily Al Ahram that the play was scheduled to open as soon as they finished preparing the Miami Theatre. The play will be performed at the opening ceremony of the theater.
“Al Dor Ala Min depicts the Arab-Israeli conflict and the development of the Palestinian issue, by presenting the Arab point of view as well as the Israeli one, along with emphasizing Arab rights,” the director told the daily.
Meanwhile, Saadani is currently filming his starring role in the new TV series Zaman Al Awlama (Time of Globalization) written and directed by Essam Al Shamaa.
The episodes, which are scheduled to be screened next Ramadan, depict social, political and economic developments starting from the late 20th century up until the beginning of the current century, and the changes' effects on the lives of people from different generations.
Saadani is known for his mostly political roles. “Politics is part of people's everyday life, which should be reflected in art,” the actor said in an earlier interview – Albawaba.com
