Samer Al Masri goes from "talk of the town" status to international film star in "A to B"
Always one careful to select only the best roles, like that of Abu Shihab in the drama "Bab Al Harah" (The Neighborhood Gate) and his character "Abu Janti Malek Al Taxi", Samer Al Masri has maintained a strong name in the celebosphere.
The Syrian star has just moved up in the acting world, going from being the talk of the town to international film star by accepting the leading role in "A to B", according to the Middle East news portal.
Discussing his exciting next career step, Samer said, "The new film is a UAE international film that is spoken in English and is written by Mohammad Hafthi and produced by 'AFM Films'. The production of the film will be by UAE director Ali Mustafa, who produced the film "City of Life'."
Samer also dished that filming for the project will begin in April across a number of Arab and European countries.
An English major in college, he began his theatrical career after graduating from the Faculty of English Literature at Damascus University.
For some reason he turned down roles in other high-profile projects in the past like "Kingdom of Heaven" and "House of Saddam" as the late Iraqi President Saddam Hussein, but here's to hoping "A to B" is the right fit for him.
