Samira Said takes a shot at romance

At the grand Monaco Music Award celebration, Moroccan singer Samira Said was presented an award for Best Arab Singer for the year 2003, in the presence of Prince Albert and a large audience of singers from all over the world. The award marked the second international prize the singer is given for the success of her album “Youm Wara Youm” (Day After Day), the first being in April by BBC International Music Awards. The awards the singer has won so far prove that she is heading in the right direction towards international stardom and that her music has reached the hearts of people worldwide.  

 

The singer has revealed that she is already in the process of preparing for her upcoming album for the year 2004. The singer added that one of the songs in the new album will be a romantic one composed by Samira herself, marking her first step in the path of composing. The singer also stressed that her new album will also feature a new look for her which is surely to surprise her audience and meet their high expectations, reported the London based Elaph.  

 

Samira has announced that she will not reveal any additional information with regards to her album, saying she is intentionally being secretive about the album fearing to encounter another theft of her songs, a matter which she has experienced more than once in the past.  

 

Samira revealed that aside from working on her upcoming album, she is on her way to Holland where she is scheduled to hold a live performance for the Arabs living there. She added that the Dutch Minister of Culture will be attending her concert, which she feels will be a successful one.  

 

The singer has also very recently held a live performance in Paris France on September 27, 2003. Samira has revealed that upon her return she will resume work on her upcoming album which she is hopeful of releasing in the near future, and has already chosen a number of prominent poets and composers.  

 

Samira announced that she has intends on adding a second acting experience to her career and is in fact looking into a number of scripts at the moment. The singer revealed that she has selected a particular film script, which had caught her attention, but insists on making a few alterations to better suit her role.  

 

The first acting experience the singer encountered was during the beginning of her career in the documentary film "Sa Aktub Ismak Ala Al Rimal" (I Will Write Your Name on Sand). It was added that the satellite television channel Orbit will air the film in the very near future. -Albawaba.com
