Prominent Lebanese singer George Wassouf was forced to postpones two concerts previously scheduled to be held in Tunisia celebrating the seventeenth anniversary of President Zein Al Abdeen Bin Ali’s reign, after experiencing a sever bronchial infection. The singer sent his apology to all his audience in Tunisia and the sponsors of the concerts stressing that health reasons are what forbade him from coming and that he wished his reasons are taken with the utmost honesty and trust.
George added that in the upcoming few days he will announce the rescheduled dates. The singer’s business manager revealed that George had woken up from his sleep with an infected bronchitis that kept swelling with time reaching the point of making it impossible for the singer to talk.
It has been revealed that over 12 thousand tickets had been sold for George’s concerts on the first day they were out in stores. Tickets sold in the black market have reached four times their original price due to the great popularity the singer enjoys among Tunisians.
Wassuf recently recorded an interview with his production company Rotana, but it took the company three months to air it on their music channel because of the firing releases of George during the interview. The three-hour interview covered the relationship between Wassuf and Rotana and the difficulties he is facing in dealing with them.
The interview started with continuous cheers of his fans who were around two thousand inside the studio and more than eight thousand waiting for him outside the place. Other guests came to Wassuf's interview like Abdullah Belkhair, Laila Gofran, Jawad Ali, Mirna Khayyat, Tony Abu Elyas, Tony Kahwaji, Nishan Harotionian.
Wassuf added that he has been ill for the past two years and no one in Rotana even remembered him with a phone call, here the announcer wanted to cover up for Rotana and said that Rotana came to welcome him in the airport. Wassuf commented by saying it is your duty as a production company to welcome me at the airport besides he used his connections to let Rotana officials into the airport.
Despite all the announcer's efforts to change the subject Wassuf went on criticizing and saying that Rotana brings new managers every year who harm the company more and cause major set backs. Wassuf expressed his sadness because Salem Al-Hindi told him that his albums are not achieving the sales they used to make. Here Wassuf wondered if this was true and why Rotana would not let him go. –Albawaba.com
