Them's fighting words! Kuwaiti singer Shams’ new song combats extremism
Her way to bring the heat is to bust out notes at the top of her lungs. "Deen Abukum Ismu Ayh" (What is the Religion of Your Fathers Called?), written by Jamal Al Bakheet, is Kuwaiti singer Shams’ new weapon of messing up extremism around the region.
The new track is a duet alongside the song’s composer, Mohammad Al Mahdi.
According to the Middle East news portal Elaph, when the song is finished being recorded in Dubai and Cairo, she’s got big plans to turn it into a fab music vid for the region to see via satellite. Now all she’s got to do is figure out where she wants to set the shooting locale!
The starlet is homeward bound. She’s leaving life in Dubai behind and heading back to her Kuwait roots to hit up some high profile weddings and special occasions for her homeland’s most elite, but she won’t be leaving her upcoming album on the shelf while she’s away. She’ll still be a music producin’ workin’ girl, across borders.
