Stunning Egyptian actress Sharihan has just signed up with a new play, Lamma Baba Nam (When Daddy Slept), in which famous singer Mustafa Amar is expected to join.

According to AL Sharq El Awsat newspaper, the play, produced by Mohammad Fawzi, was scheduled to open last summer, but was postponed after actress Shereen Saif El Nasr withdrew from her role.

The London based daily said that another cause for postponing the play was that Sharihan had asked that some scenes in the script be changed to integrate a number of dance and singing sketches.

Sharihan asked for the changes after she found out that the movie’s production company, Sawt El Qahira (The Sound of Cairo), decided to raise the budget of the show.

If Amar signs on, it will be his first experience on stage, but not on the screen; the singer has already acted in two movies.

However, the actor as asked for some time before he makes his decision in order to get the written approval of his record label.

This approval is very imporatant, since the play’s production company has decided that since music and dance will be included in Lamma Baba Nam, an album entailing all songs will be released.

But, Amar’s contract with his record label does not allow him from taking such a step.

If the singer is unable to take on the role, director Khaled Jalal intends to ask singer Hisham Abbas to take star alongside Sharihan. – Albawaba.com.
