Young Iraqi artist Shatha Hasoon attended an award ceremony held by the Egyptian magazine ‘DG’ at the Intercontinental Samiramis Hotel in Cairo.
According to the London daily Elaph, the young Iraqi artist received an award as the ‘best rising music artist in Egypt’ for 2008.
Among the guests were a large number of Egyptian celebrities, like actors Madiha Yusri, Nadia Jundi, Liblibah and Somayah Al Khashab, and artists Ahmad Helmi, Muhammad Hamaqi, and Husam Habib. Moroccan artist Samirah Saeed was also at the ceremony.
Shatha sang for her Egyptian fans for the first time in Egypt and she glowed in her performance.
It is needless to say that Shatha received great attention from the press, making a number of radio and television interviews. She was also interviewed by Mutaz Al Damrdash, broadcaster of the entertainment show “90 Minutes.”
