The young Iraqi artist Shatha Hasoon is getting ready to host two live concerts in Baghdad at the end of July.

This is the first time that an international artist will visit Iraq and host a musical concert there since the fall of the former last Iraqi president Sadam Hussein.

According to the London daily Elaph,  Shatha said that she has received many offers to sing in Baghdad over the past two years but had to limit her performances to northern Iraq due to security concerns.

Shatha revealed that she needs to stand by her Iraqi fans and sing for them, despite the security concerns.

All of the proceeds from Shatha’s concerts will be donated to Iraqi children that are in need of medical help.

For the time Shatha is managing her own musical business and she is determined to be successful in all her future projects.  She recently went on a visit to Cairo where she met with a number of poets and composers.
