Iraqi singer Shatha Hassoun has announced that she cancelled her scheduled concert on February 16 at one of Dubai’s prestigious hotels in celebration of Valentine’s Day. Shatha said that she made her decision as a way to show her support of the Syrian people who are going through hard conditions with the outbreak of demonstrations demanding the resignation of the government of President Bashar Al Asad.

Shatha wrote on her official page on the internet social network Facebook that in support of the people in Syria and the tragic conditions she has decided to call her Valentine’s Day concert in Dubai.

According to the internet website MBC.net, on their part, the organizers of the event supported Shatha’s decision and said it shows her compassion towards people around the Arab world.
