Egyptian singer Shireen Abdul Wahab announced that her upcoming album, produced by Free Music, will be released in August after numerous delays.
According to the London based Elaph, Shireen will also be filming a new music video for the song “Awal Marah” under the direction and production of Nasr Mahrous, who has so far filmed all her clips.
Composer Rami Sabri has denied rumors that Shireen will again postpone the album due to a legal dispute with her production company.
Rami stressed that the album is still in the production phase and needs more time than originally anticipated for completion. Shireen is still recording the songs for the album, he added, three of which were composed by Rami.
Shireen filed a lawsuit against her record producer, Nasr Mahrous, demanding to break the contract between them. Shireen claims that Nasr only produces one album for her every two years, a matter that negatively affects her career and is against the stipulations of their contract, which clearly states he must produce an album for her, yearly.
The singer recently held a charity concert in Cairo, from which proceeds went directly to the Children’s Cancer Hospital. The event was held under the patronage of Egypt’s first lady Suzan Mubarak, and was be aired live on the Arab satellite channel Infinity.
Shireen is scheduled to begin a concert tour in Australia this fall.
