Shireen Abdul Wahab deserted by lawyer
In a rare instance of its kind, Egyptian singer Shireen Abdul Wahab’s lawyer, Shahin Abu Al Fotooh, announced that he will no longer represent her. Shahin had been representing Shireen in a number of cases, but suddenly made his announcement while awaiting a verdict in the singer’s case against producer Hamdi Abdul Hameed.
Shahin claimed that he feared Shireen would desert him like she did her business manager, and therefore decided to take precaution by leaving her first. There is no stability working with Shireen, and she has the tendency to suddenly layoff ppeople without prior notice, the lawyer explained.
On a similar note, Shireen has filed a lawsuit against her record producer Nasr Mahrous demanding to break the contract between them. Shireen argues that Nasr only produces one album for her every two years, a matter that affects her career and is against the stipulations of their contract which clearly states he must produce an album for her every year.
The singer indicated she must present a new music style, different from the ones she has been using in order to maintain her career. Mahrous has failed to offer her any of the advantages provided to other singers by different production companies, she added.
Shireen stressed that she will sever the contract with Mahrous, even if the court does not grant her permission.
On his part, Mahrous was shocked with Shireen’s demands; unaware what led her to take such action. Mahrous claims he is sure someone is pushing Shireen to file the suit, and stressed that the contract between them is for eight years and she is not allowed to entertain unless he gives her written permission.
