Egyptian singer Shireen Abdul Wahab was outraged when she discovered that one of the newspapers had published an article about her stating that she said that prominent Egyptian singer Amr Diab did not deserve the World Music Award and that his latest album was very weak.

According to the London based Elaph, it was added that Shireen had stated that the album was not even close to the level of his previous albums. The incident made Shireen immediately contact her lawyer and release a press release to clarify that she did not make any such remarks.

The release stated that Shireen has great respect for Amr on a professional and personal level. She also added that she considers him winning the World Music Award as an award for all Arab singers.

With regards to his latest album, Shireen said that she considers it as a work of art and does not think of it any less than Amr’s previous albums.

The press release by Shireen comes as an apology to Amr for the lies that were published using her name. She wanted to assure the singer that she would never say any such things and that to her Amr is one of the most important singers in the Arab world and she always looks up to him.
