Egyptian singer Shireen Ahmad has sadly turned down an invitation to take part in the annual Carthage festival in Tunisia due to the fact that she will be over loaded with preparations for her upcoming album. The singer is due to hold a number of concerts around the Arab world after which she will head to Egypt and concentrate on producing her next album.
According to the London based Elaph, Shireen revealed that she has accepted an invitation to hold live concerts at the Jordanian annual summer festival Jarash. Shireen's participation in the Jarash Festival comes during the end of August at which time she would have completed all the necessary preparations for her album.
Shireen is scheduled to head to Lebanon this week to take part in the special celebration for the official launching of the Pan Arab Games. During the ceremony, Shireen will hold a live performance alongside Lebanese singers Nancy Ajram, Rida Boutrus and Milhim Zein. The big event will take place in Beirut on June 27, 2004, in front of a very large live audience.
On a different note, Shireen is placing the final touches of her upcoming album, which she hopes to release in the very near future. Shireen has made it a point not to reveal any of the details regarding her new album, wanting it to be a surprise for her fans.
Shireen had announced her engagement to an Egyptian-American businessman, who is not part of the entertainment world. Shireen held a private engagement party in her home, which consisted of her family and producer Naser Mahrous, whom she made up with recently, in addition to her fiancé’s family.
Shireen stressed that her marriage will not affect her music career, and that she plans on resuming her journey, especially since the upcoming period marks such an important one with the success she is accomplishing.
Shireen has already begun preparations for her big wedding day, which she reveals will be a grand one with the presence of all her friends from the entertainment world. The wedding is scheduled to be held at one of the grand hotels in Cairo this summer. -Albawaba.com
