Shireen Wajdi and Amr Diab together once more in Dubai
Egyptian singers Shireen Wajdi and Amr Diab have recently held a joint concert during the Dubai Nights festival, which proved to be very successful. The two singers have held many concerts together during different occasions, in which Shireen stresses that its mere coincidence.
According to the London based Elaph, Shireen revealed that she holds no grudge towards Egyptian singer Shireen Ahmad and that she does not know why the latter keeps making rude public comments about her. Wajdi added that Shireen Ahmad keeps attacking her in all her interviews making unnecessary remarks.
During the concert at the festival, Shireen Wajdi held her performance in the first two hours and Amr ended the night with his performance. Both singers sang a collection of their old and new songs leaving the audience mesmerized.
Wajdi celebrated New Year's Eve alongside Amr Diab in a joint concert. The two performed at the Coral Beach Hotel in a live concert, which witnessed a tremendous success due to the large popularity both singers enjoy in Lebanon.
Shireen was named best Egyptian female singer for the year 2003 by the Egyptian magazine Huriyati. A poll was made the last month of the past year by the magazine, and the results were that Shireen holds the best voice among all other Egyptian female singers.
According to the Qatar based daily, Al Raya, Shireen expressed her honor for winning such a title and promised to keep working hard to always present her fans with something new. The singer announced that she will head on a tour around Gulf countries after completing her performances in Lebanon, Syria and Egypt.
The singer also revealed that she has nearly completed choosing the songs for her upcoming album. Shireen added that she has worked with a number of prominent composers and poets. The singer also noted that one of the surprises she holds for her fans in the new album is a song sung in the Lebanese dialect.
Wajdi has recently announced that she is currently looking for a new look to present her audience with for her upcoming album. The singer has made it a point to keep changing the way she looks with every album she releases and so this time she is searching something that will help her make a strong comeback. –Albawaba.com
