Egyptian actress Summaya Al Khashab has agreed to take part in the upcoming new film “Gambari” (Shrimp), which is a comedy film, and has already begun reading its script. The new film will mark Summaya’s return to the big screen after taking time off to participate in the television drama series “Al Haqiqa Wal Sarab” (Reality and Illusion).
According to the London based daily, Al Sharq Al Awsat, the actress expressed that she was attracted to the story of the new film, which revolves around a young beautiful girl who works at a seafood restaurant and is exposed to harassment by male customers. The film falls in the comedy genre and humor is incorporated throughout its events, as the young girl discovers that the restaurant she is working in is only for male customers.
Summya was furious over the fact that her television series was not aired during the holy month of Ramadan, where television viewers are at peak. She added that it was a loss for all television viewers because it tackles very important social issues.
Recently, Al Khashab was shocked when she realized that her mobile phone was stolen, while attending a special occasion for one of her friends at a grand hotel in Egypt. The actress had left her phone on the table she was sitting at, and when she turned to make a phone call she realized it had disappeared.
Summaya became very distressed over the theft of her phone and not because of the value of the phone itself, but because she had so many important numbers saved in its memory. Summaya filed charges over the theft of her phone hoping that the perpetrator would come forward and return her mobile.
Al Khashab was recently diagnosed with a sever case of fatigue due to overworking herself in two different jobs. The actress had taken on two different roles at the same time, one in a film and the other in a TV drama series, with both requiring extensive working hours.
The actress all of the sudden found her self too exhausted to stand, leading her to demand that the directors of both works find some way to arrange properly between the times she is requested to shoot her scenes. Summaya did not realize the effort needed to act in the two different works at first, and said she accepted the roles because she felt that each was an opportunity she could not let pass by. She added that despite the fatigue that came with the work, she is happy she for the mere fact that her time is filled with the thing she loves doing most, which is acting.
The actress stressed to the director of the TV series she is acting in that he has to find a way to work around her schedule, especially since she is required to travel with the crew of the film to Sharm El Sheikh to shoot some of the scenes.
Al Khashab had finally announced the news of her marriage to an Arab businessman, proving that recent circulating rumors of her secret marriage are in fact true. The actress had disappeared from the scenes in the past month creating numerous rumors to come out that stated she has resigned from acting and gotten married. –Albawaba.com
