Egyptian singer Tamer Husni has written a special song “Fi Hub Ahmad Zaki” (In Love of Ahmad Zaki) for Egyptian actor Ahmad Zaki, who is being treated for lung cancer, and dedicated it to him during a special honorary ceremony at the American University in Cairo. The song, which is written and composed by Tamer himself, expresses the love the singer has towards the actor and his admiration of his work.
According to the London based daily, Al Hayat, the ceremony was held by the American University to honor Ahmad for his great achievements throughout his career in acting. Close contacts to the actor revealed that Ahmad actually shed tears when he heard the song for the first time, and expressed his honor towards Tamer for singing it.
Ahmad added that it makes him proud to have such honorary ceremonies held in his honor, especially due the fact that he is not a political leader nor a president, but a mere actor who has given his life to his career.
On a different note, Husni had been experiencing a state of severe depression due to the fact that his first solo album “Hub” (Love) is not witnessing success in the record market. The singer had previously forecasted that his first album would be a big hit, but was disappointed to realize that it is not as successful as was expected.
Nasr Mahrous, producer of the album, had thought that Tamer’s album would find the same success the first solo album for Egyptian singer Shireen Ahmad witnessed. Shireen’s first album had brought her popularity in such a short time placing her on the same level of competition with Egyptian prominent singer Amr Diab.
Tamer’s main mistake was that he had postponed releasing his solo album and was away from the scenes for a long time. The album features nine songs, three of which are written by producer Nasr and fall under the romance genre. The singer filmed one of the songs in the form of a video clip. –Albawaba.com
