The end of Ramadan is around the corner leaving little time for sponsors of concerts to organize their live entertainment celebrations. Sponsors around the Arab World are busy cutting deals, and travelling from country to country trying to find the right singers to host their concerts during Eid Al Fitir (Breaking of Fasting holiday).

With most of the Arab singers, especially Gulf singers, taking Ramadan off and dedicating their time solely to worshiping, the second half of the holy month is witnessing sudden visits and extensive meetings between sponsors, singers, and business managers. Long hours are being spent cutting deals and signing contracts.

The London based daily, Al Sharq Al Awsat, reported that sponsors are in some ways competing with one another, trying to see who gets to cut the best deal. Instead of spending their fasting hours at home with their families, they are flying from country to country to be ahead of the game.

The daily added that this Eid celebration would witness to a number of new albums by Gulf singers. Most singers have kept off the release of their new albums until Eid, as to present their new songs alongside their concerts adding to their success.

Saudi Rabih Saqr, the Kuwaiti band Miami, and the United Emirate singer Ahlam intend to release their albums during the upcoming Eid holiday. Ahlam will has already agreed on hosting a live concert during the holiday in Lebanon, and another in Bahrain alongside the prominent Saudi singer Mohammad Abdo, Rashid Al Majid, Hind, and Mohammad Al Bakri.

According to the daily, the Saudi singer Abdul Majeed Abdullah, who has not held a live concert in over a year, will be featured in Beirut along with Nawal from Kuwait, and Hussain Al Jasimi from the UAE. The Eid holiday will also feature the release of Abdul Majeed’s new album composed of 27 new songs dedicated solely to the satellite channel MBC, which will also air them during the holiday. –Albawaba.com
