Egyptian director Hani Ismael will begin middle of this month shooting his new TV series Wa Hallakat al Tuyoor Nahw al Sharq (Birds Fly Away Towards East) scripted by Mukhtar Ezziddin and costarring Mahmoud Yasin, Huda Sultan, Hadi al Gayyar, Karim Abdel Aziz, Hala Shiha and Khaled Zaki.

The 15-minute series is based on a real story from the Egyptian Intelligence Department archives and gives an account about the Palestinian issue since the 1948 catastrophe through the 1973 war.

“I have been entrusted by the Ministry of Information and the Production Department with implementing the series which depicts a major successful unbelievable operation carried out by the Egyptian Intelligence,” the director Hani Ismael told the daily al Gomhuria.

He added, “In addition to the key stars in the series, we are going to recruit most of the stars in Egypt to participate in the series which casts its shadows on the current circumstances which the Palestinian issue is now witnessing.”

“Outdoor scenes are supposed to be shot in a number of European countries particlarly Austria where most of the events took place. Instead we will be seeking an Arab country soon where we will shoot Austrian and European scenes. The Production Department has begun providing the necessary resources to implement this Immense drama which tells by image and voice the legendary role played by the Egyptian intelligence officers since the Palestinian 1948 catastrophe to date,” said Ismael -- Albawaba.com
