Suad Hosni’s Collectibles Auction Attracts Her Admirers Worldwide
The deputy head of the New York stock exchange, Mark Boyenz, who is one of the most admirers of the late Egyptian actress Suad Hosni expressed his willingness to attend the auction for selling her collectibles in favor of the children cancer hospital in Egypt.
“When Boyenz learnt of the auction he expressed his willingness to come from New York especially to attend it because he is one of her big admirers,” the London based Arabic daily al Sharq al Awsat cited Magdi al Nazer, the ART information office director as saying.
“I became familiar with Hosni when I saw a film for her screened by the Egyptian TV during my first visit to Egypt. Then my big admiration with her work began, so I bought her films and became mad of her wonderful performance,” said Boyenz adding that he tried to know the artist personally to inform her of his love to for her art and that she was one of the international superstars.
The director of the ART film promotion department, Nancy Yousef said, “a big crowd of the Egyptian and Arab artists will attend the auction which will be aired live Tuesday from Cairo. Among these artists are Athar al Hakim, Yusra, Hanan Tork and many others who expressed willingness to participate in the event. Also Captain Mahmoud al Khatib will take part in the auction and hopes to buy an undershirt bearing her name in which she appeared in the episodes Haya Wa Howa (She and Him). The commemoration will include also a concert in which an elite group of singers will participate including Nadia Mustafa, Thekra, Fatma Abdel Hamid and the Saudi singer Khaled al Saad -- Albawaba.com
