Syrian actress Sulaf Fokharji has been presented with an honorary award for being the best female Syrian actress for the year 2005. The Syrian Actors Association will present the actress with the award at a special ceremony at the Damascus International Theater.

For the first time in her career Sulaf will star alongside prominent Syrian actor Aiman Zeidan in a new television drama series. The new drama, “Safeer Faouq Al Adeh” (Extra Ordinary Ambassador) is directed by Seif El Din Subai’ee.

Sulaf recently appeared in the Egyptian film “Halim...Hikayet Sha’eb” (Halim…A Nation’s Story). The film’s leading star is the late prominent Egyptian actor Ahmad Zaki, who tragically passed away before the film was completed.

Sulaf plays the role of “Jihan,” Halim’s mysterious lover, who comes from a well-known Egyptian family, although to their dismay the love affair does not end in marriage.
