Egyptian actress Summaya Al Khashab has been nominated for the leading role in the new film “Ilakat Jaree’a” (Daring Relationships), written and directed by Mohammad Azzab.
The film revolves around an Egyptian woman who travels to Istanbul for her work, and becomes entangled in several strange relationships throughout her journey.
Egyptian actors Hani Salama, Mohammad Rajab, and Hindi Sabri have been nominated to star alongside Summaya.
Summaya was recently voted the most attractive Egyptian actress in a poll including 140 actresses spanning all the way back to the early years of the Egyptian cinema.
Summaya outranked movie legends such as Shams Al Baroudi, Hind Rustom, and Muna Zaki.
Summaya’s upcoming television drama, “Raya and Iskeena,” costarring Egyptian actress Abla Kamel, is scheduled to be aired during the holy month of Ramadan, when viewership is highest.
Director Jamal Abdul Hamid has begun filming at the Egyptian ‘Media Production City’ in Cairo.
The drama is based on a true story of two sisters who murdered innocent women, and then proceeded to rob them of their processions. The story covers seventeen different murder cases, some of which actually took place.
The producers requested that Summaya gain a few kilos in order to match that of Abla, but Summaya insisted the two women will have different weights. The actress argued that the original characters she and Abla are portraying were slender.
