Television announcer Wafa Al Kilani held prominent Egyptian actress Summaya Al Khashab guest on her weekly program 'Bab Al Bosta' on the satellite channel Rotana. The actress, who became well-known during her role in the 2001 role in the television drama “Al Haj Mitwali”, talked about her journey and how that specific role opened the doorways to stardom.

According to the London based Elaph, Summaya talked about her career and personal matters, but one issue she strictly refused to conceal was the identity of her husband, who is said to be a business man from one of the Gulf countries.

During the program, a viewer had asked Summaya about her recent disputes with director Ismael Abdul Hafez, who recently stated that the actress’s jealousy of Syrian actor Jamal Sulieman led her to make numerous allegations that were all lies.

Al Khashab accused Ismael of deleting a number of scenes from the recent television drama “Hadaeq Al Shaitan” (The Devil’s Gardens), charging that Jamal was given preferential treatment over her.

Ismael had said that Summaya’s allegations are not true, and he did not omit any of her scenes from the drama. Ismael asserted that he has been a television drama director since 1960 and would never simply omit a scene without a valid reason as Summaya claimed. He regrets working with such an actor who creates lies to get attention, said Ismael.

During the screening of the drama Ismael received a call from Summaya asking him why he did not place the word ‘Star’ before her name in the drama’s credits as he had done with Jamal.  Ismael reminded Summaya that her name did appear before actor Riyadh Al Khouli’s name in the credits.

Summaya requested that the network screening the drama place the word ‘Star’ before her name, but they refused her request, according to Ismael.

Summaya announced that she will never again take a leading role alongside Jamal or work with production company 'Al Jabr,’ although, the drama was given a ‘viewers and critics award’ for its popularity during the holy month of Ramadan.
