Syrian Comedy Shot Completely on Board a Ship
A new Syrian TV series entitled al Safinah (Ship) is currently being shot on board of a ship opposite Latakia port on the Mediterranean marking the first Syrian drama of its kind, according to the London-based daily al Sharq al Awsat.
The series was scripted and directed by Emad Saif al Din and produced by the HFN Company. Costarring in the series are Salim Kallas, Shukran Murtaga, Najah Hafith, Hasan Dakkak, Sawsan Michelle, Husam Tahseen Beih and others.
The series belongs to the contemporary comedy social genre and depicts the life journey of a spinster who disguises as a man to work as a waiter in a coffee shop to prove her presence and role in life.
Earlier the Syrian drama debuted in the comedy series A’elat Khams Nujoom (Five star Family) with all series episodes shot in one room. The series costarring an elite group of Syrian comedy stars including Amal Arafeh, Samia al Jazaeri, Andrea Sakkaf and Fares al Hilo recorded a big success -- Albawaba.com
