Tamer Husni asks for his fan’s prayers
Egyptian singer Tamer Husni will be compelled to fulfill his one month sentence in jail and then stand trial at a military court. The singer has asked his fans to pray for him, and for God to alleviate his crisis.
According to the London based daily, Al Sharq Al Awsat, Tamer stated that he did not actually submit the forged legal documents, falsely stating that he had fulfilled his military service.
The singer admits he did obtain the forged documents, but at the last minute decided not to submit them. He claims he was unable to distinguish between the real and forged document, and surreptitiously submitted the wrong set.
The singer revealed that his father abandoned him at a young age, contributing to his inability to face his military service.
Tamer revealed that his ordeal has exhausted him physically and mentally, describing it as the “worst moment” of his entire life.
The Egyptian television network has banned all of Tamer’s music, declaring he is a negative role model after he and friend Haitham Shaker were convicted of forgery. The decision to ban Tamer has not been implemented by the network to date.
The courts determined that Tamer and Haitham submitted forged legal documents in order to avoid military service.
In an attempt to support Tamer in his time of imprisonment, producer Nasr Mahrous, owner of ‘Free Music’ Production Company intends on releasing the singer’s latest album.
The album was scheduled for release in June, but Nasr wanted to show Tamer that he and many other people are behind him all the way.
