Tamer Husni not a Goodwill Ambassador for Children
Egyptian singer Tamer Husni announced that the recent circulating rumor of him being given the title of Goodwill Ambassador of Children for the year 2010.
He added that he was surprised by articles in the press that wrote that he was chosen as an ambassador by an association that is an affiliate of the Arab league.
Tamer stated that he never received any call or was notified by any official association of such an appointment, reported the London based Elaph.
With regards to allegations against him that he is behind the rumor, the singer shockingly stressed that he is no need of creating such lies about himself to focus the spotlight on him and does not who is behind the lies. He added that if he was appointed for such a position officially he would be very honored and would not hesitate to accept the responsibility for a moment.
Representative from the Arab League also denied appointing the singer, adding that they do not think Tamer would be a potential figure for such a role since he never did any specific thing for Arab children, in terms of charitable work.
