After the big success which the first and second part of the Egyptian series Awaraq Misriyya (Egyptian Papers) have achieved, the head of the Radio and TV Union production department, Medhat Zaki, decided to produce a third part to be directed by Wafiq Wagdi.
“The episodes of the series Awaraq Misriyyah are considered an important art drama document about a critical era which Egypt witnessed before the July 1952 resolution. The series has come after 50 years of this important political event. It is inevitable for the episodes to tackle the secrets and confidential actions that took place within what was described as the free officers’ cells and monitor the movements of people and the changes they witnessed due to the emergence of a new political movement,” the series star, Salah al Saadani, told the UAE daily al Bayan.
For his part the scriptwriter, Taha Hussein Salem said, “I defined some of July’s revolution figures who will appear in the third part and I may add others to them later. Those who were agreed upon to appear include Mohammed Naguib, Gamal Abdel Naser, Abdel Hakim Amer, Anwar al Sadat, Salah Salem and Yousef al Siddiq. We will highlight the role of each of them in important political issues, which Egypt witnessed after the revolution and shall also focus on the human aspects in their life away from spotlight. I shall then tackle the disputes that rose between them and led to many incidents based on the vision of each of the them towards events from his own perspective.”
“I allocated a large part of the series to talk about the life of some of the royal family members after the revolution and the formation of committees for inventorying their properties and confiscation, seizure of such properties and the passing of laws limiting ownership and redistributing the agricultural lands among farmers. This is in addition to the laws that restricted the maximum ownership by those who were described as feudal lords and transforming the society’ssystem of multi ownership into a socialist system,” added Salem -- Albawaba.com
