Three million EGP Nancy Ajram’s condition
Lebanese singer Nancy Ajram has repeatedly refused to accept any offer to act, stressing that her singing career is the focus at the time, but despite this previous decision, Nancy revealed that she has initially accepted an acting job. The singer has agreed to take part in a new show to be aired next Ramadan (Muslim fasting month) on one condition that she receives a wage of three million Egyptian pounds.
According to the Egyptian daily Al Gomhoryah, Nancy’s condition shocked the Egyptian broadcasting network, which offered Nancy the role, and they had immediately turned it down. It was revealed that a producer decided to sponsor the show, which is like a game show, in order to have the network reconsider turning Nancy down.
Recently, Ajram has turned down an offer for one million dollars to act in a television commercial for one of the food production companies. Nancy’s refusal for the offer comes from the fact that she refuses to accept any offer that does not relate to singing, stressing that she wants to focus her efforts on her music career only.
Nancy had also refused several offers to star in different films for the same reasons. Nancy added that she is postponing the idea of acting in Egyptian films for another two years, or until she is certain she has mastered the Egyptian accent.
Ajram has begun shooting a new music video for her song “Ma Feesh Hajeh” (There is Nothing), which is featured in her upcoming album. Nancy’s new video is being filmed in the old town of Seeda in Lebanon amidst extensive security, which created worry among inhabitants of the town, who feared that something unusual is taking place.
Once the townspeople realized that what was going on was merely a filming of a clip for Nancy, they gathered in large crowds eagerly asking for autographs and photos by the singer. Director Nadine Labky, who has directed all of Nancy’s previous videos, naturally directs the video.
In the clip, Nancy portrays the role of a simple village girl, in which she is wearing no makeup to appear natural. The song is part of the new album, which features 10 new songs and is scheduled to be released in the near future.
Nancy is putting last touches on her new album which had been described by her business manager Jiji Lamara as “exceptional work” and many famous composers and poets participated in the album like Tark Abu Joudeh, Mohammed Raheem, Tarek Madkoor, and others. –Albawaba.com
