High government officials in Tunisia have released an order to forbid the entrance of Lebanese singer Ragheb Alama into Tunisia. Ragheb, who is currently on a tour around the Arab world to hold concerts in different countries, was scheduled to hold a private performance in Tunisia.
Upon hearing that the singer was to hold a concert in Tunisia, government officials sent a request to him to hold a charity concert, where the proceeds would go to helping different children’s organizations, but the singer turned the offer down due to his overloaded schedule. The singer’s refusal was what brought the government’s order to forbid him from entering the country unless he agrees to hold the charity concert.
Ragheb is known to hold many different charity events, especially ones that deal with children, and has in fact built a school for children as a way of showing his support to them. The singer was shocked with the Tunisian government’s order and did not understand why they were so hard on him despite his attempts to try and explain his stance on why he cannot hold the special concert.
Alama has threatened to leave his production company Alam El Phan after they have been continuously delaying the release of his upcoming album. Disputes erupted between Ragheb and the owner of the company, Muhsin Jaber, after the later postponed the release more than three times and the situation reached a dead-end.
The singer had placed the final touches on his upcoming album and finalized it over two months ago in the hope that it will be launched in the beginning of the summer season. Ragheb had repeatedly tried to pressure Muhsin in releasing the album, but the latter kept delaying the matter making the singer go into an outrage. Ragheb announced that this album will be the last he will produce with Alam El Phan, and that he will not renew his three-year contract, which is about to end. –Albawaba.com
