Tunisian Zikra sings for children in her upcoming album
Renowned Tunisian singer Zikra has recently finished shooting two music videos, with director Muhsen Ahmed, from her latest album said to be released on Eid Al Fitr, according to the Qatari daily, Al Raya.
The newspaper reported on Saturday that the two videos "Fazzeit Min nomi" (I Suddenly Woke Up) and "Atfal" (Children) were shot between Cairo and Sharm Al Sheikh. "I will be working on another video for the song 'Deen' (religion) in the upcoming fasting month of Ramadan," said Zikra.
"This is the first time I sing for children, and I hope the song would mark a success for me," added the singer. The album, produced by Funoun Al Jazeera production company, holds several renowned names of poets and composers like, Fahd bin Khaled, Talal Maddah, Turky, Tareq Mohammed, Al Aani, Sabah Naser and many others.
Earlier in February, a Saudi cleric called for Zikra's death for comparing her sufferings with those of the Prophet Mohammed. "It's an act of apostasy which deserves punishment by execution," Sheikh Ibrahim al Khdairi, a judge at Riyadh's Islamic Higher Court, said at that time.
For their part, Tunisian newspapers have admitted that Zikra's comments were 'exaggerated' but said that Sheikh al Khudairi had over-stepped the mark by calling for the singer's death. – Albawaba.com
