Unemployment drives Hneidi to steal one million pound
Egyptian comedy star Mohammed Hnaidi has finally given a nod to star in the new TV series “Ayyam fil Sayala” (Days in Sayyala) written by Osama Anwar Okasha, according to Asharq al Awsat newspaper.
The series, directed by Ismael Hafez, will mark the first appearance for Hneidi on the silver screen after a six-year’s absence. “The series will take me back to the silver screen after a six-year sabbatical,” Henaidi told the London based Arabic daily, adding that the director stipulated that he should postpone all his other activities and dedicate his full time for the series shooting.
“I was encouraged by the good quality and the nice story of it,” Hneidi commented on the series, explaining that the participation of his latest play’s colleagues Medhat Saleh and Ghadah Abdul Razzaq gave him another push. “Their presence gives me a special psychological relief particularly in view of our success on the stage,” Hneidi said.
Responding to a question on his role in the series Henaidi said, “I shall play the role as an unemployed young man who suffers from the loss of his parents since childhood. The young man’s aunt is wasteful in spoiling and transforming him into a fraudulent who took elusion as a profession to deceive rich and renowned people using his smartness.”
Hala Shiha, Sumayy al Khashab, Mahmoud al Gondi, Samihah Ayyoub and Ahmed Bedair have been tapped to take leading roles in the series. Henaidi’s pay for his role in the more than 30-episode series amounts to one million pound. - Albawaba.com
