Wafa Amer, ‘seductive roles have long past’
The Egyptian actress Wafa Amer said that rumors about her retiring from acting are not true.
“The rumors started because I was away from the spotlight for a long time,” said Wafa. “The absence was because I wanted to change my image to take on new and exciting roles.”
Playing seductive roles has long past, said Wafa, noting that she has a husband, son and fans to consider.
“When I first started acting I thought I had to play seductive roles, otherwise I would not be offered another part,” said Wafa.
Wafa said for the time being there are no offers for roles in films that suit her.
Wafa will star in a new television drama series called “Domoo Fe Naher Al Hob” (Tears In The River OF Love) which will be aired on television during the upcoming Ramadan season. Wafa has finished filming all the scenes for the new drama series that also stars Mustafa Fahmi, Khaled Zaki, Amira Al Aydi and Ayten Amer.
In the new series Wafa plays the role of an honest and free journalist that
faces great troubles because of her husband.
The series is written by Muna Noor Al Deen and directed by Tayseer Aboud.
On the other hand, Wafa is still in the process of filming her scenes for her other television drama series “Ibn Al Arndali” (Son of Arndali) which also stars Egyptian actors Yehya Al Fakharani and Dalal Abed Al Aziz.
The series is written by Walid Yousif and directed by the Syrian Rasha Sharbatji. Wafa plays the role of a nurse who comes from a poor family.
Wafa will also star in two television drama series produced by her husband Muhammad Fawzi.
She is in the process of looking for a new producer, said Wafa.
