Wafa Makky behind bars
Egyptian actress Wafa Makky has requested a script for a new film telling her personal story of her time behind bars. The actress recently completed a three-year jail sentence for beating her maids, grooming her for the part.
Head of the Egyptian Actors Association, prominent actor Yousef Shabaan, confirmed that the association has renewed Wafa’s membership, granting her permission to return to the scenes after her long absence.
According to the UAE based daily, Al Bayan, Wafa intends on making a strong comeback, and is currently reading scripts for plays and television dramas to choose the most suitable one for her debut.
Wafa announced that she is in search of a new look and a new style to present to her audience upon her return, for it will give her confidence as she begins a new journey in her acting career.
The actress explained that she will put her recent hardship behind her, noting that her heart and life belong to acting and the entertainment world.
Wafa served a three-year jail sentence at Al Qanater prison after being found guilty of beating her maids. The actress appealed for parole after serving half of her sentence, but the courts denied her request.
