Egyptian actress Wafaa Amer has refused to marry an Egyptian businessman who offered her $2 million dollars as a dowry.

“I have refused the offer because I considered it a business deal without love. I refuse this because my heart cannot be purchased, even by millions of dollars,” Amer told Al Sharq Al Awsat daily.

The actress confirmed that her former husband had been trying to return to her.

“I can’t believe what has happened, but whatever the reasons may have been, I shall never accept going back to him. He left me when I was accused, but the court has proved my innocence.”

Amer has started shooting the series Komi, written by Khairy Shalabi, directed by Mohammed Radi, and costarring Elham Shahin, Mamdouh Abdel Alim, Hisham Slim and Ghada Ibrahim.

Amer said that the series was “written in a motivating style and directed by a prominent director. I have agreed to perform in the series because it will enrich my experience. I have apologized for not performing in many TV series after my hit Jisr Alkhatar (Bridge of Danger) two years ago.”

She performed in Jisr Alkhatar along with Salah Assaadani, Wafaa Sadek, Riyadh Al Khooli and Hasan Hosni. The film was written by Mohammed Safaa Amer and directed by Jamal Abdel Hamid.

Amer will soon start shooting the movie Shaaban Abdel Rahim Wasat Alharim (Shaaban Abdel Rahim Among Women) directed by Sharif Sabri. Recently, she has worked with the popular singer Shaaban Abdel Rahim in the play Hulw Alkalam (Sweet Talk) – Albawaba.com
