Walid Tawfiq secures Egyptian Award for patriotic song
The song Sawt al Hajar (Sound of Stone) by the Lebanese singer Walid Tawfiq ranked number 1 among the Arab patriotic songs in Egypt during the bloody conflict in occupied Palestine.
This smash hit came as a result of a public poll made by the Egyptian Radio Service, according to the London based Arabic daily al Sharq al Awsat.
The Lebanese star is due in Cairo next week to receive the Golden Statue Award from the Egyptian Ministry of Information at a ceremony to be held at the Opera House and attended by Egyptian artists and prominent figures.
