Lebanese singer Walid Tawfiq will perform Wednesday in Beirut a concert under the title Sarkhat Ghadab (a Shout of Anger) in support for the Palestinian people.

At the concert organized by the Committee of Development in Lebanon, Tawfiq will perform a number of his patriotic songs including Sawt al Hajar (The Stone Voice) and Kebar Nahno al Thuwar (We are Great Rebellious).

“Since 1982, Tawfiq has performed 12 songs for the Palestinian Intifada, such as Shams al Ahrar (The Free Men’s Sun) and Ya Habibi Fi al Madina (My Beloved in the City),” Tawfiq’s business manager, Osama Samra told the London-based daily al Hayat.

On Sunday, Tawfiq has also performed a concert at the Egyptian Opera House along with Egyptian singers, at which they performed the operetta al Holm al Arabi (The Arab Dream).

The Opera House concert was attended by many Egyptian film stars including Hussein Fahmi, Laila Elwi and Dalal Abdel Aziz, in addition to singer Ehab Tawfiq.

“Every man can help the Palestinians, the soldier by his weapon, the writer by his pen and the singer by his voice,” Tafiq told the press, indicating that he is going to perform concerts whose proceeds will be donated to the Palestinian people – Albawaba.com
