Prominent Algerian singer Warda has recently announced her comeback to the music world with a new album to be released. She has received a collection of new composed songs by Salah Al Sharnoubi made especially for her voice. From her experience with the composer, who shone four years ago with the song Batwannes Beek, Wardah has led a real revolution, which has made her records best sellers among singers old and new. The great singer has headed to Cairo-Egypt to begin recording the new songs for her upcoming album to stay connected to her fans, reported the London based Elaph.
Despite her critical health status after the heart surgery she underwent lately and strict orders from her doctors regarding any exhausting work, Warda began recording songs for her new album, which name was not revealed. "Despite the pain I'm having following the surgery, and despite all doctors' warnings, but I feel that I can't stay away from singing for long," Warda said.
She added that her doctor agreed on the idea but insisted on accompanying her to the studios fearing from any complications that she might face due to tiredness.
In October, the Algerian Rai King Cheb Khaled told the UAE daily, Al Bayan that he is hoping to reach an agreement with what he describes as the "Arab singing princess", Warda Al Jazaeriyah, for a duet.
Warda holds more than two hundred songs throughout her singing career. She cooperated with great composers in her life, like Riad Al Sonbaty, Baligh Hamdy, Mohammed Abdul Wahab, Sayed Mekkawy, Mohammed Al Mogy, Farid Al Atrash, Helmy Bakr, and many others.
On the big screen, she starred in "Sout Al Hob" (Voice of Love), "Hekayty Maa Al Zaman" (My Story With Time) in 1973, "Ah Ya Leil Ya Zaman" (Oh! Night and Life) in 1977, "Leih Ya Donia" (Why This My Life?!) in 1993. She also performed in one play "Tamr Henna", and one series" Awraq Al Ward" (Flowers Buds). Warda’s last album was "Ana Leyah Meen Gherak" (Whom Do I Have Except You!?) released in May 2001.
Born in Paris to an Algerian father and Lebanese mother, and living most of her life in Egypt,
Wardah is known to be as one of a few contemporary artists who rejuvenates her image by issuing new albums all the time. This is an attempt to modernize Arabic singing, regardless of whether or not the younger generation and critics in the Arab World are appreciative. – Albawaba.com
