According to the London daily Elaph, Lebanese singer Julia Butros appeared as a guest on the television show “Al Isboo’ Fe Sa’ah” (The Week in 60 Minutes), hosted by George Slebi.

Political celebrities usually appear on the show, but this time Julia was invited to discuss her political views.

Julia chooses the right time to appear on political programs to try and improve the situation in Lebanon.

“Music artists can make a difference to improve their countries,” said Julia.  She likes to get involved in political matters because her voice can be heard.

Julia’s political views have affected her music.  Julia talked about patriotic songs that she sang for Lebanon and about her nonprofit organization “Ahibai.” (My dear ones)  The organization has collected large donations for the families of those who died for their country during the Israeli-Lebanese war in 2006.

The show was aired on the satellite channel NTV.
