Yahia Al Fakharani portrays the life of Mohammad Ali Pasha

Prominent Egyptian actor Yahia Al Fakharani has made a decision to accept the leading role for a new TV series “Mohammad Ali Pasha” due to come out next Ramadan. In the drama series, Yahia will be playing the role of Prince Mohammad, an Ottoman general of Albanian origin, who seized power with the cooperation of the local population. 

 

According to the UAE based daily, Al Bayan, events in the series will begin from the time the Ottoman sultan declared him the governor of Egypt in 1805. Muhammad Ali’s destruction of all his opponents until he became the only source of power in the country will portrayed, as well as the way he gained control of all the trade routes into Egypt, and the way he embarked on wars of expansion.  

 

After Yahia’s acceptance of the role, nominations are now underway for eligible directors and actors to take part in the making of the series, which is scheduled to begin shooting scenes this April.  

 

 

On a different note, Al Fakhrani had taken roles in two plays, Hallaq Baghdad (Baghdad Baber) and Al Malek Lear (King Lear). This is in addition to shooting a series called Farouk Al Awwal Wal Akhir (Farouq, the First and Last) written by his wife, Lamis Jaber, and written by Yusri Al Jundi. –Albawaba.com
