Younis Shalabi in critical condition post heart surgery

Prominent Egyptian comedian-actor Younis Shalabi’s health condition deteriorated rapidly after undergoing open heart surgery.

Shalabi was showing signs of improvement, but then experienced a severe brain seizure that led to his admittance to the ICU, where he was placed under close observation until he regained consciousness.

Doctors supervising the actor stated that numerous tests are being conducted to ensure his recovery, and that he will receive the best treatment under their strict supervision.
 
The actor has gone bankrupt, compounding the situation, as a result of the exorbitant medical bills for his treatment at different private hospitals.

Egyptian actor Samir Sabri, a close friend of Younis, formed a special association and called on members of the entertainment community to make financial contributions toward helping Younis.

According to the UAE based daily, Al Bayan, Samir submitted a petition to the Egyptian Minister of Health requesting that the state finance Younis’s medical treatment at one of the hospitals, which amounted to 30 thousand Egyptian pounds.
