Lebanese actor Youssef al Khal threatened to quit social media this week after Twitter reacted harshly to crowning Sandy Tabet as Miss Lebanon 2016 on Saturday.
The disappointed heartthrob said in a tweet, "In all honesty, for the first time ever I'm seriously considering quitting social media because of how people are reacting to Miss Lebanon. Shame on you."
يعني للحقيقة من ورا اللي عم بيصير مع ملكة جمال لبنان على وسائل التواصل الإجتماعي، لأول مرّة عم فكّر جدّياً سكِّر كل حساباتي،يا عيب الشوم بس.— Youssef Al Khal (@youssefalkhal) October 23, 2016
Twitter might have had a bit too much fun with the newly-crowned beauty queen, but in all fairness, Sandy looked more awkward than happy to be named the new Miss Lebanon. With that being said, at least the 22-year-old was brave, motivated and confident enough to get up on stage and follow her dreams until she made them come true.
Here are some of tweets that made Sandy the butt of Twitter's joke this week:
