Yusra Faces Criticism for Her Upcoming Album
Egyptian actress and singer Yusra has faced a harsh criticism as soon as she revealed that she is gearing up for a new album.
Yusra expressed her sadness and anger because critics attacked her upcoming work before they even hear any of its songs.
The Egyptian artist cleared up about her singing career, saying that “when I was young, I studied ballet with music and I was fond of Laila Murad, who was a close friend of my grandmother. I used to visit Murad daily, but I couldn’t reach her standard in terms of singing in the movies. I am not a singer. I am just a performer of words and music, which I like. My first album came about accidentally, when I discovered that I had sung seven songs in films such as Dantella. So I asked composer Hamid al Shae’ri to give me three new songs to be added to the seven in order to release the album, which was an additional artistic experience for me,” Yusra told the Qatari daily Al Raya.
By expanding her talent for marketing herself in different guises, the actress has followed in the footsteps of Mohammed Heneidi and Mahmoud Abdel Aziz.
One of Yusra’s first album songs, is Khali al Nass Tihibb (Let people love). Yusra belts out her universal message of love in three languages, English, French and Arabic, and the song also has a video clip, which was directed by her friend Enas al Degheidi – Albawaba.com
