Egyptian actress Yusra has revealed that she refuses to receive any form of compensation for all her public appearances on television programs or special occasions. The actress stressed that her participation in such programs or show is done out of the goodness of her heart and money plays no part in it.

According to the UAE based daily, Al Bayan, the Egyptian Income Tax Authority had demanded that Yusra pay her due taxes on all her entertainment activities in addition to her public appearances. The actress ordered her tax auditor to only submit taxes on her latest television drama “Malik Rouhi”, in addition to presenting legal papers that prove she does not receive any financial benefits from her public appearances.

The American Network Company Showtime, the largest television entertainment network in the Middle East, has recently signed a new long-term contract with Universal Studios that allows them to choose from any of their films or television series upon request. Showtime also has similar contracts with Paramount Pictures, Sony Columbia, Twentieth Century Fox, Warner Brothers, MGM, and Dream Works in order to offer a larger variety of shows and films for their viewers.

President of Showtime, Peter Anistan, has revealed that a new Hollywood film is aired every night and the network has complete copyrights to broadcast any work produced in Hollywood. Yusra and actor Ahmad Izz have been chosen to be the official ambassadors for Showtime in the Middle East to advertise for their variety of films.

Yusra and Ahmad have just completed shooting a new commercial for Showtime in which the two highlight the extent of entertainment found in the different channels of Showtime, and how the network offers more films and shows than any other network.

Yusra had recently signed a contract with Showtime to be the star of their advertising campaign in the Arab world. Yusra has already completed a number of TV commercials that are being advertised on Showtime’s Arabic channels and intends on appearing in more.

Yusra is currently in the process of preparing for her role in the new film “Kalam Fil Hub” (Love Talk) alongside Egyptian actors Hisham Salim, Hanan Turk, and a number of other prominent actors. The film is scheduled to be filmed between Egypt and Morocco. Yusra’s role in the film is one she has never played before, an experience the actress looks forward to. Yusra plays the role of a waitress at a restaurant and the events revolve around modern social issues. The film is written by Zainab Aziz and is to be directed by Ali Idrees and produced by Jamal Al Adel.

Yusra has taken on three new roles for the small screen, the cinema, and on stage in the theater. The actress has accepted a leading role in the new television drama series “Al Hub Moutan” (Love to Death), in which she plays the role of a woman who struggles with the traditions of her society trying to make something of herself. –Albawaba.com
