Yusra seeking a director
The filming of the scenes of the new television drama series for prominent Egyptian actress Yusra is still postponed until the appropriate director is chosen. Recently, director Jamal Abdul Hameed had regretfully turned down his nomination to direct the drama.
The drama is titled "Mojet Abeer" that is based on a true story of a journalist's adventure. The script is written by Mustafa Ibrahim. The drama was to be produced earlier for screening during the past holy month of Ramadan, but due to the actress's preoccupation with other projects it was postponed.
Jamal had turned down his nomination due to the fact that the drama is said to be exclusive to Al Adel Group, which will produce it. Jamal, who is known to be the best drama director in Egypt, stated that he does not work with one company exclusively and likes to work with all companies. It said that negotiations with Jamal are still going in the hope that he will accept directing the drama, in which Yusra plays the role of journalist in.
Yusra will appear as guest of honor on the television drama "Lahthat Harija" (Sensitive Moments), which will be aired on the Dubai satellite channel in January. Yusra had refused the leading role in the drama and preferred being a guest of honor.
Egyptian cinema houses began screening the latest film “Ma Tiji Nur’us” (Lets Dance) starring Yusra, actor Izzat Abu Oub, Hala Sidqi, Tamer Hajres and Talat Zein.
The film, which is an adaptation of the Hollywood production “Lets Dance,” starring Richard Geere and Jennifer Lopez, is directed by controversial Egyptian director Enas Al Dughaidi.
Enas has revealed that the Egyptian Censorship Committee has given its permission for the film to be screened and had not opposed any of its contents, opposite of many rumors that said the film was facing many problems with the censorship due to the fact that it featured numerous sex scenes.
Yusra plays the role of a lawyer for a major firm who realizes that life is just passing by, without her enjoying it. She decides to turn her life around, although the drastic changes she makes, eventually negatively affect her family.
The difference between her film and the American version is that the latter has a male as the leading actor, while the Egyptian version presents her as the leading star, explained Yusra.
