Zaki Juma’h Appears at Party Honoring Adel Imam
Zaki Juma’h, the name on the lips of lovers of the play “Madrasat Al Mushaghibeen” (School of the Riotous) for decades, surprised party-goers by appearing at an event honoring comedian Adel Imam two days ago, according to the London-based Al Hayat newspaper.
Juma’h entered the spotlight during one of the play’s scenes, when Imam asks “who’s Juma’h?” as he goes through the names of prominent scholars.
After years of audiences believing that Juma’h was a figment of the playwright’s imagination, Imam surprised the revelers at the Cairo Opera House by announcing that “Zaki Juma’h is among us.”
The renowned Egyptian actor asked Juma’h to come up to the stage for a greeting from the audience, adding that Juna’h was the person who taught him to act in university performance groups.
Imam also said that director Hussein Kamal was the first to predict that he would be a comedian.
He saluted all those who had supported him during his career, and ended his speech with the words “Where are you, Dad, to see me being honored by this big elite audience?” - Albawaba.com
